Gillian Petit is currently a Research Associate at the School of Public Policy at the University of Calgary in the Fiscal and Economic Policy division as well as a PhD Candidate at the University of Calgary in the Department of Economics. She holds a Masters in Economics and a Juris Doctorate from Queen’s University. She currently conducts research for the B.C. Basic Income Expert Panel with a focus on income and social supports and tax policy for low-income and marginalized persons. Her past research includes applied economics research in the economics of legal institutions and on the gendered impacts of taxation.
