Three Minute Thesis (3MT®) is a research communication competition developed by The University of Queensland (UQ). Graduate students have three minutes to present a compelling oration on their thesis and its significance. 3MT challenges students to consolidate their ideas and research discoveries so they can be presented concisely to a non-specialist audience.
Developed by The University of Queensland (UQ) in 2008, enthusiasm for the 3MT concept has developed rapidly and 3MT® competitions are now held in over 900 universities and institutions across more than 80 countries worldwide.

How does CRDCN support Emerging Researchers?
We are proud to be able to support the future of research in Canada. More than 750 students used an RDC in 2019. We have issued over 50 Emerging Scholars Grants since the program began in 2018. To date we can count over 1,000 theses that have made use of RDC data. We also offer other support to student researchers such as the National Policy Challenge, and research opportunities such as the APS 2017 research funding.
